Trained in Adelaide before completing an IBD fellowship and PhD at the Royal Melbourne Hospital and University of Melbourne.
Special interest in inflammatory bowel disease, luminal gastroenterology, and endoscopy. Guru is a Clinical Senior Lecturer at the University of Melbourne and Senior Examiner for the RACP.
He has performed 5,000+ procedures and led national digital health research improving access to specialist care.
Trained in London before completing his physician training and PhD in Melbourne, with a fellowship in IBD and liver disease at Oxford.
Special interest in viral hepatitis, fatty liver disease, cirrhosis, and liver cancer.
Board Member of the Gastroenterology Society of Australia and lead author of national liver disease guidelines.
Author of 250+ publications and co-host of the LiverHealthPOD.
Gemma completed a Masters of Dietetics and Bachelor of Food Science and Nutrition at Deakin University. Gemma has also completed the Monash University Low FODMAP diet course for Dietitian's in addition to training in the Crohn's Disease Exclusion Diet (CDED) and the benefits of Gut Directed Hypnotherapy using the NERVA smartphone app.
Through her private practice, working alongside A/Prof John Lubel, Gemma assists patients with a range of gastrointestinal conditions such as IBS, FODMAP intolerances, IBD, Coeliac Disease, Gastroparesis, liver disease and Functional dyspepsia. Gemma can also help with weight management, Type 2 Diabetes, Osteoporosis, Hypertension and high cholesterol.
In addition to private practice, Gemma runs the general gastro, disorders of gut-brain interaction, liver disease and musculoskeletal outpatient dietetics clinics at The Northern Hospital.
